Frequently Asked Questions

Sizing & Fit

What size RipTip should I get?

RipTip sizes refer to the outer diameter of the tip in millimeters. We offer sizes from 6mm to 13mm. If you're used to smoking pre-rolls or typically roll with about 1–1.5g of material, a size 8 or 9 is a great starting point. If you prefer larger rolls or blunts, go with a 10, 11, or 12. Our most popular sizes are 9, 10, and 11. When in doubt, size up, you can always roll a bit tighter, but you can't stretch a tip that's too small.

How do you measure the RipTip?

We size our tips based on their width, rounded to the nearest whole number. For example, a "size 9" tip can measure anywhere from 9.1mm to 9.9mm. Slight variation within the size range is normal and expected.

What's the difference between Regular, Extra Long, and XXL?

Our regular tips are approximately 1 inch (25mm) in length. Extra Long (XL) tips are approximately 1.25 inches (32mm), giving you a bit more to hold on to. XXL RipTips are our largest option are approximately 2 inches (50mm) in length.

I ordered the wrong size. Can I exchange it?

Yes. Contact us at info@theriptip.com within 14 days of delivery and we'll send you a return label. Once we receive the original tip back, we'll ship out the correct size (if available). Please note that we do not refund shipping costs on exchanges.

Cleaning & Care

How do I clean my RipTip?

Add isopropyl alcohol (the higher the percentage, the better) to the canister or vial that comes with your tip. Let it soak for 30 minutes to 1 hour, give it a shake, rinse with warm water, and let it dry completely before your next use.

My tip has stubborn stains that won't come off. What should I do?

If isopropyl alcohol isn't cutting it, we recommend an ultrasonic cleaner. You can find affordable jewelry-sized ultrasonic cleaners on Amazon. Fill it with water and a bit of dish soap, drop your tip in, and run a cycle. This will remove even the toughest resin stains. Tips can stain when you burn the cherry all the way down, an ultrasonic cleaner takes care of that.

Will cleaning damage the logo or decal on my tip?

Our bake-on decals are designed to withstand regular cleaning with isopropyl alcohol and water. That said, decals can wear over time with heavy use and repeated cleaning — this is normal and similar to how screen printing wears on clothing. To extend the life of your decal, avoid soaking in ISO for extended periods, don't use abrasive cleaners, and don't let tips rub against each other (glass can scratch glass). Do not use heat (a torch or otherwise) to clean your tips. Our etched tips have laser-engraved designs that are fully permanent and will never wear off.

Shipping & Delivery

How long does shipping take?

We ship within 1–2 business days of receiving your order. Domestic orders (US) typically arrive within 3–7 business days, depending on your location and the shipping method selected at checkout. International orders take approximately 7–21 business days depending on the destination and carrier. Please note that fulfillment times may be extended during high-volume periods such as new product releases, restocks, and site-wide sales.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide. International orders are typically shipped via DHL or UPS. Please note that customs duties, taxes, and import fees are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in our shipping costs. These fees vary by country and are charged by your local customs authority, not by RipTip.

My tracking number isn't updating. What's going on?

Tracking can sometimes take 24–48 hours to update after we create the label. If your tracking hasn't updated after a few days, reach out to us at info@theriptip.com and we'll look into it. If you purchased Route Shipping Protection at checkout, you're covered for lost, stolen, or damaged packages.

What is Route Shipping Protection?

Route is an optional shipping insurance you can add at checkout. It covers lost, stolen, and damaged packages. If something goes wrong with your delivery, you can file a claim directly through Route for a replacement or refund. We highly recommend it!

Damaged & Defective Tips

My RipTip arrived chipped or broken. What should I do?

We're sorry to hear that. Please email us at info@theriptip.com with your order number and photos of the damage within 14 days of delivery. We'll get a replacement sent out to you. In most cases, there's no need to send the damaged tip back.

I broke my RipTip. Can I get a replacement?

We do not offer warranties or replacements for tips that break during use. Our tips are from borosilicate glass, which is durable but not indestructible. Drops onto hard surfaces, clamping too tightly, or excessive force can cause breakage.

The decal on my tip is fading or peeling off. Is this normal?

Decal fading is a known issue we're actively working to improve. Our bake-on decals are fused directly onto the glass but they can wear with repeated cleaning and heavy use over time. If your decal came off unusually fast (within a few uses), contact us with photos and your order number — we'll make it right. And be sure to check out our Etched RipTip selection. Laser-engraved designs are fully permanent.

Orders & Returns

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unused and in original packaging. Contact us at info@theriptip.com with your order number to request a return label. Once we receive the item back, we'll process a refund to your original payment method. Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable.

Can I cancel or change my order after placing it?

If your order hasn't shipped yet, email us at info@theriptip.com as soon as possible and we'll do our best to make changes or cancel it. Once an order has shipped, we're unable to make changes but you can request a return once it arrives.

I was charged but didn't receive an order confirmation. What happened?

Occasionally, orders can fail to process even though the charge appears on the card. This usually resolves within a few business days as a pending authorization charge that drops off. If the charge stays on your account, email us at info@theriptip.com with a screenshot of the charge and we'll sort it out.

Product Info

What are RipTips made of?

RipTips are made from borosilicate glass — the same type of glass used in laboratory equipment and high-end cookware (Pyrex). It's highly resistant to thermal shock, meaning it won't crack from mild temperature changes during use.

Are RipTips reusable?

Yes. That's the whole point. Unlike paper or cardboard filters, a RipTip is designed to last indefinitely with proper care. Clean it between uses and it's good to go. One RipTip replaces thousands of disposable tips.

What's in the Mystery Pack?

Mystery Packs include a random assortment of RipTips at a discounted price. We try to include a variety of sizes and colorways — most packs contain at least one smaller size (7 or 8) and at least one larger size (11 or 12). We can't guarantee specific sizes or colors.

Where are RipTips made?

RipTips are made in the USA. Every tip is crafted from borosilicate glass and features our proprietary 9-channel vortex airflow design.
